Hello and Welcome!

I am so glad you are here.

I’ve always loved a good story. It’s why I taught literature for many years.

And while I loved those classics, I realized the most important story is our own - the one we tell others - the one we tell ourselves. The one we’re living out right here, right now.

Are you happy with yours? Or are you feeling stuck? Maybe you’re feeling frustrated or anxious or angry or maybe even nothing at all.

I’d love to help.

I’d love to hear your story.

I am a licensed professional counselor, and I offer therapy for those whose stories include:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Trauma

  • Unwanted Behaviors and Thought Patterns

  • Emotion Regulation Issues

  • Interpersonal Relationship Concerns

  • Spiritual and Faith Formation

Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we will ever do”

About Me

I began my career as an English teacher because of my interest in story, not just the literary kind, but the real stories lived out by my students and by the community as a whole. After 28 years in education, I carried this love of story to counseling, believing that when one understands their life narrative, they better understand themselves and the strengths and resources they hold within them.

Being a second-generation Asian American, I believe that my family of origin and social environment significantly shaped my personality as I navigated between traditional/cultural values, and Western values. And I believe that every person is influenced by a multitude of systems, constantly navigating between expectations and responsibilities. From within these influences, individuals create their life stories, telling themselves and others who they think they are. I have a genuine desire to connect with my clients and support them in understanding how their experiences have affected them. I believe that once a person understands their life trajectory, they can make choices that build on their strengths and promote mental wellness.

I obtained a BA in English Literature from the University of California at Berkeley and an MS in Professional Counseling from Concordia University Wisconsin. As a licensed professional counselor (LPC), I use best practices from a variety of modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I support individuals in developing life goals, recognizing their strengths, and learning strategies that allow them to thrive.

I earned a Graduate Diploma in Christian Studies from Regent College in Vancouver, BC. As a Christ-follower, I recognize that all individuals are worthy and capable of healing and growth. Combining my knowledge and skills as a professional counselor and my belief in the spiritual possibilities of personal transformation, I offer a faith-informed therapeutic relationship that respects the client and their healing journey.
